MHRN is now Catalyst Montana! ---

Thanks for visiting the Montana Human Rights Network website!

On December 2nd, Montana Human Rights Network merged with Montana Women Vote to become Catalyst Montana: Organizing for Justice.

Our new name reflects what we have always known: that community organizing is the starting place to realize a future where there is  justice, safety, and dignity for all. We seek to be a catalyst for collective power and meaningful change by and for low-income and marginalized Montanans.  Under our new name and organizational structure, we’ll continue to do the work that each organization is known for - organizing, policy advocacy, research, and leadership development - but with added capacity and reach.

The decision to merge MWV and MHRN into Catalyst Montana was not taken lightly.  Our organizations have spent many years working closely together on issues such as Medicaid expansion, LGBTQ equality, and criminal legal reform, and have shared many opportunities to connect with and build power with Montanans across the state.  Ultimately, we knew our work would be more powerful and create more lasting change if we pooled our resources and combined our efforts officially.

Keep engaging in the work to realize a future where there is justice, safety, and dignity for all with Catalyst Montana!

What We Do

MHRN has defended and expanded human rights in Montana for 30+ years. We research White nationalism and extremism, advance LGBTQ2S+ equality, and support the communities targeted by extremist groups. We use educational opportunities, trainings, legislative lobbying, and personal engagement to counteract racism, antisemitism, Indigenous sovereignty, homophobia, transphobia, Islamophobia, and anti-government extremism across Montana.
