Travis McAdam leads the Combatting White Nationalism and Defending Democracy program for the Montana Human Rights Network. In this presentation for a group in Philipsburg, he gives an overview of the white nationalist movement in Montana between 2015-Present. The presentation includes an overview of the Alt-Right and numerous white nationalist groups/activists, including Andrew Anglin, Richard Spencer, and the American Identity Movement (formerly Identity Evropa). It also touches on the anti-Indigenous, anti-immigrant, and anti-Muslim movements. This was the second of a two-part seminar. 





MHRN Facebook: Members of Bundy Network Spearheading Harassment of Public Health Officer in Gallatin County

In many Montana communities, so-called “patriots” and militia members are actively engaged in, if not leading, protests against public health measures meant to slow the spread of the pandemic. Many communities are seeing those protesters using the Ammon Bundy playbook of showing up outside public officials’ homes. This article shows that in some cases the protest leaders helped create the Bundy playbook. Roger Roots has a long history of partnering with members of the insurrectionist Bundy Family and is helping Ammon Bundy’s “People’s Right” network. Travis McAdam of MHRN gives an overview of the white nationalist movement in Montana between 1980-2015. The presentation includes an overview of numerous white nationalist groups, including Aryan Nations, The Creativity Movement, National Alliance, and Pioneer Little Europe. It also touches on the anti-Indigenous, anti-immigrant, and anti-Muslim movements, in addition to examining the racist roots of the 1990’s militia movement. This was the first of a two-part seminar.

Travis McAdam of MHRN spoke to a meeting convened by the Bonner County Human Rights Task Force and provided background about militia and other antigovernment “patriot” groups in Idaho. Topics covered included: Ammon Bundy’s People’s Rights, Three Percent militias, Light Foot Militia, United States Freedom Protectors, American Redoubt, and Other Keepers.
